In 1985, a group of social workers established a private voluntary development organization to improve the condition of socially disadvantaged children in Bangladesh. The organization was named as Social and Economic Enhancement Programme-SEEP. SEEP is a National, Non-Governmental Development Organization. The Organization got registered with Department of Social Welfare on 23 July 1986 with registration number of Pabna-149(278)/86 and NGO Affairs Bureau under Foreign Donation (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Rules 1978 vide Registration No. 993. The organization is also registered with the Micro Credit Regulatory Authority vide Registration No.-00014-00052-00044 dated 05.09.2007.

SEEP has also 15 social development programs and 8 donors (Ministry of Education, Palli Karmo Sahayak Foundatio (PKSF), Save the Children Bangladesh, Concern World Wide Bangladesh, Terre des Hommes-Netherlands, Manusher Jonno Foundation, Plan International Bangladesh, Anukul Foundation and Commercial Banks). The Head office of the organization is located at House-5 , Road-4, Block – A, Section – 11, PS-Pallabi, Mirpur, Dhaka-1216, It has 480 employees and 26th branches offices in Dhaka, Narayongonj, Gazipur, Pabna and Manikgaonj. SEEP working on Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Protection, Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Health and Nutrition, Livelihood and Food Security.

We all know about the government’s initiative to build community volunteers. Through our urban risk reduction project ‘Proyash’ we are developing urban volunteers. We have been working since 2015. Currently, we work in four city corporations: Narayanganj City Corporation, Savar City Corporation, Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporation.
