Like many women in Bangladesh, Amena Sikder was married at a very young age. She had to stop going to school when she was in class eight. Now, 33 years old Amena lives with her husband and two children at Imandipur, ward 7, Savar. His husband, Khurshed Alam has business on parts selling of Auto Rickshaw. “Day by day, the price of daily necessities are increasing, it becomes difficult to bear the educational expense of my two children by the income of my husband”, she said. “I always wanted to support my husband to run our family but did not get any guidance on how to start any income generating activity nor I had any technical skill”. She added.
